Piezoelectric Technology

CTS Communications Components manufactures PZT material to both PZT5A and PZT5H specifications. We have developed proprietary processes to accomplish this. Our standard process makes a product with electromechanical properties suitable for many applications. For more demanding applications we have a second process that enhances the electromechanical properties and reduces the material porosity. This allows our customers to construct effective elements with dimensions of 0.1mm and aspect ratios exceeding 10:1.

CTS Communications Components PZT ceramics are characterized by their extremely high density, low porosity and defects, and piece to piece uniformity. Our internal designation are 3195 and 3195HD for PZT5A, 3203 3203HD for PZT5H. Please refer to our material data sheet for specific material properties.

Piezoelectric Devices and Materials

CTS Communications Components manufactures a wide range of piezoelectric devices utilizing our proprietary PZT material formulations. Our focus has been on specific solutions to our customers requirements. For many of our customers we are their sole source.

Piezoelectric Speakers

CTS manufacture all the ceramic used in our speaker products in Albuquerque, NM, USA. Our speakers models are all piezo speakers utilizing our original momentum drive design technology.

bullet Voice Range Current applications are in medical imaging equipment, general instrumentation, and portable communication devices where a non-magnetic, non-ferrous, light weight solution is required for audio output.
 
bullet Mid Range These powerful, rugged, yet light weight drivers have applications ranging from sound reinforcement in the music industry to wind shear detection arrays installed at many airports worldwide.
 
bullet Tweeters Characterized by a low end frequency roll off at about 3 KHz. Applications include sound reinforcement, PA, pro-audio, and car hifi.
 
bullet Annunciators Tuned to a very narrow frequency band which substantially reinforces the output level at that frequency, CTS Communications Components annunciators find applications in vehicle anti-theft systems, backup alarms and commercial annunciators.
